Payton McKechnie – U19AA Bandits Scholarship Recipient

Years as a ringette player: 11 years

Currently enrolled in: Biology, University of Regina

Favorite ringette moment: My favorite ringette moment was probably winning the consolation final with the Bandits.  That year, we had fought very hard to be Team Saskatchewan and experienced a lot of team troubles.  We all knew we deserved to be on the side to win Nationals and were all very disappointed we were not there.  Despite these challenges, we went on to become champions in a hard fought battle against Team PEI, winning in overtime.  The team came together in that game and really stepped up to the plate, and humble leaders emerged.  It was a very hard experience and a great way to end a challenging year.
