Message from Coach Derrick Dalrymple
Welcome, and thank you for your interest in trying out for the Regina Rockets U14 Travel Ringette Team.
I’m excited to get the season started and to work with a group of athletes who are ready to compete, improve, and have fun along the way. As Head Coach, I value hard work, having fun, and a great attitude. Those three things will be at the foundation of everything we do this season. We will work hard together, support one another, and create an environment where every athlete has the opportunity to grow.
Our Goal
Our goal throughout the season is to develop athletes who want to challenge themselves and work toward achieving the next level. Development will be a major focus, both on and off the ice. We want our athletes to become better ringette players, better teammates, and more confident competitors. We will encourage them to push outside their comfort zones, learn from challenges, and take pride in their progress.
At the same time, we want our athletes to enjoy the experience. Travel ringette is about competition, but it is also about building friendships, creating memories, and enjoying the game.
Competition & Travel Schedule
The Regina Rockets plan to compete in the 14A/U16B loop through RRA, giving our athletes the opportunity to play strong competition throughout the season.
We are also excited about our tournament schedule:
- October 23–25 — Winnipeg, BVRA Pre-Season Showdown
- November 14–16 — Lethbridge, Fall Bridge Battle
- December 4–6 — Toronto, Ajax Pickering Invitational
- January 8–10 — Regina, Jim Benning Tournament
- February 12–15 — Spruce Grove, Sweetheart Tournament
- March 27–29 — White City, Western Cup
A Special Opportunity in Toronto
Our trip to Toronto for the Ajax Pickering Invitational will be a unique and rare opportunity for athletes in this age group.
This tournament will give our team the chance to see and compete against ringette teams from Eastern Canada, providing a different level of competition and a valuable experience for our athletes. It will allow them to experience different styles of play, challenge themselves against new opponents, and see how they compare against teams from outside our usual playing area.
Just as importantly, the Toronto trip will be a unique team-bonding experience. Spending time together away from home, travelling as a team, and experiencing a new city will help build friendships, trust, and team chemistry that we can carry with us throughout the season.
Looking Ahead
I believe this group has the opportunity to make this a very special season. We will work hard, have fun, compete together, and support each other every step of the way.
Our goal isn’t simply to win games. It’s to develop, compete, grow as athletes, and build a team that is proud to wear the Regina Rockets jersey.
I can’t wait to get started and see what we can accomplish together.
Let’s go Rockets!
